The short answer is, it depends on your business type, your clients and how they prefer to consume information. But there is a bit more to it…
A podcast is a great way for people to consume information on the go. More and more people are listening to podcasts while on their way to work, out for a walk or while doing daily chores. However, this may mean listeners are multi-tasking and might not absorb all the great content you have to offer.
The added benefit of a podcast is that it's more personal, listeners will hear your voice, your tone and your laugh, which can help them feel more connected with you.
A blog requires a bit more of a focused effort from your client and needs to get to the point a bit quicker. However, if part of your marketing strategy is to rank highly on Google and drive traffic to your website, then a blog is an excellent choice. You see any informative and helpful information on your website is trawled by Google and helps your website to rank higher and be viewed as relevant (otherwise known as SEO - search engine optimisation).
Just make sure you know the right keywords to be using and include them in every blog. You can also use your blog content in other marketing strategies such as social media and email marketing – write it once, use it everywhere!
And for some businesses, it might be beneficial to do both! Start by asking your existing clients and followers what they prefer, and then test it!
